A Kindergarten Enrichment Program Nurturing Children’s I.Q. and E.Q.

Promoting healthy cognitive, emotional and social development!

What is KinderQ™?

KinderQ™ is a half-day enriched learning opportunity that complements a child’s regular kindergarten program. The program was developed in response to the best and most current research on early childhood development. This research indicates that having a high “Emotional I.Q” is as important as having a high “Intellectual I.Q.” Emotional intelligence, or E.Q., refers to the socio-emotional capacities involved in understanding, appreciating and managing oneself, as well as the ability to create and maintain healthy relationships with others. KinderQ™ is uniquely designed to teach children not only the “intellectual smarts” needed for success in life, but the “emotional smarts” and “social smarts” as well.

Taught by expert teachers who specialize in both early literacy acquisition and emotional intelligence, KinderQ™:

  • Ensures children learn the essential skills, strategies and concepts needed to attain maximum academic, personal and interpersonal success when they enter grade one
  • Provides systematic and explicit early literacy instruction to help children meet and exceed the new provincial literacy kindergarten standards
  • Nurtures high levels of self-esteem and self-expression with varied, creative learning opportunities (music, drama, art and creative movement)
  • Develops a sense of personal mastery, significance and competence that empowers children to function in their environment with confidence and assurance
